The CH Amposta men's handball team has secured promotion to Segona Catalana, the regional second division, after defeating Sant Andreu C in the 3a Catalana League play-off quarter-finals. The decisive match saw Amposta triumph with a 30-34 victory, according to L'Ebre Digital.

The promotion was confirmed following a dominant performance by the Montsià-based squad, who carried a significant 10-goal advantage from the first leg of the play-off. In the return fixture, played against Sant Andreu C, CH Amposta adopted a strategy of robust defence and prolonged attacks to control the game's tempo.

Their defensive prowess was particularly evident in the first half, where they limited Sant Andreu C to just 10 goals. CH Amposta went into the break with a comfortable 10-17 lead, a scoreline that underscored their superiority and allowed them to approach the second half with confidence. The Amposta team maintained their control throughout the second period, ensuring the result was never in doubt.

Semi-Finals Await

With their promotion secured, CH Amposta will now focus on the semi-finals of the 3a Catalana League. Their next challenge will be a home match against Martorell B, scheduled for Sunday, 26 April 2026, at 12pm. The game will take place at the Tecnificació pavilion in Amposta.
