Residents in the Partida de la Devesa area of Cervià de les Garrigues, in the Lleida area of Catalonia, were told to stay indoors on 14 June 2026 after a forest fire broke out nearby.

The Generalitat Firefighters began working on the blaze at 14:47. Protecció Civil sent an ES-Alert to mobile phones in the affected area at 17:00, telling people to close doors and windows and call 112 in an emergency. More Catalonia news

The Mossos d'Esquadra evacuated eight residents from their homes as a precaution. Police also closed two local roads, the LP-7032 between Albi and Cervià, and the LV-7031 between Cervià and Borges.

Firefighters were working with about 30 teams, including seven aerial units, according to information shared via X. The fire was being driven by a southerly wind, and crews were focusing on containing the right flank and protecting buildings on the left flank.

The Rural Agents said the fire had affected an estimated nine hectares of agricultural and forest vegetation. An investigation is under way to determine the cause.
