Cerdanya has launched a new mobile recycling centre service this week, bringing waste collection directly to residents in municipalities that are part of the waste management contract.
This initiative marks a further step in renewing the selective waste collection system across the region. It aims to make recycling easier and more accessible for citizens, contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable environment for everyone, according to local officials.
Improving Waste Collection Access
The introduction of the Deixalleria Mòbil, or Mobile Recycling Centre, means residents no longer need to travel to a fixed facility to dispose of certain types of waste. Instead, the service will rotate through participating towns, offering a convenient option for recycling various materials.
This approach is designed to increase participation in selective waste collection, which is a key part of Catalonia's environmental strategy. By reducing barriers to recycling, Cerdanya hopes to see a significant improvement in waste separation rates.
