Castellbell i el Vilar, Central Catalonia, will host a summer camp for children with diabetes from 25 to 27 June. The Associació de Diabètics de la Catalunya Central (Association of Diabetics of Central Catalonia) organised the camp at the Viladoms de Baix holiday home.

The camp is designed for boys and girls aged 6 to 16 who have diabetes. It offers a conventional summer camp experience, but with specialist support. Medical professionals, nurses, and leisure monitors with training in diabetology will be present throughout the programme, according to the association.

The main goal is to help the personal development of the children. Organisers want to create a relaxed environment where participants can connect with nature. This approach allows children to enjoy typical summer activities while receiving the necessary care and supervision for their condition.

Registration Details

Parents interested in enrolling their children have until 18 May to register. Enrolment can be completed at the Associació de Diabètics de la Catalunya Central's office, located on Flor de Lis street in Manresa. The association aims to provide a safe and enjoyable experience, combining fun activities with expert health management.

The initiative reflects a broader effort to provide specialised support for young people with chronic conditions, allowing them to participate fully in social and recreational activities. Such programmes are important for building confidence and independence among children managing diabetes.
