Two new stores open on 30 July

On Thursday 30 July, Caprabo opened two new supermarkets: one in Ripollet at Carrer Nostra Senyora dels Àngels, 1, and another in Barcelona’s Vila Olímpica del Poblenou district at Carrer Ramon Turró, 89. Both stores are 200 square metres in size and each employs five people. The openings mark the eighth new store launch by the Catalan supermarket chain in the first half of 2026, surpassing its annual average of around 15 openings per year.

Expansion exceeds forecast

Caprabo has expanded across the Barcelona metropolitan area and beyond in early 2026, with new locations also opening in Rubí, Sant Esteve Sesrovires, Sant Boi de Llobregat and Creixell in Tarragona. These eight new sites add approximately 1,750 square metres of retail space and have created around 40 new jobs. The company described the pace as exceeding its planned rollout.

These openings allow Caprabo to strengthen its presence in neighbourhoods and towns where it previously had no footprint, using a proximity format adapted to local needs.

Sales growth and ongoing strategy

In 2025, Caprabo reported €822 million in sales, a 3% increase from the previous year, following the opening of 16 new stores that added over 5,000 square metres of commercial space. The chain operates primarily through franchised urban stores averaging up to 300 square metres, open daily with extended hours from 08:00 to 23:00. Shoppers benefit from Caprabo’s private label range and the savings offered by the Club Caprabo loyalty card. More information about the network and openings is available at Caprabo's official press page.
