Blanes, in Girona, has awarded €10,500 in prizes for the 12th annual Research and Talent Awards, recognising student projects from the town’s three public institutes.

The awards cover baccalaureate research projects and final projects from advanced vocational training courses at Sa Palomera, Serrallarga and S'Agulla. The council said the total prize fund has tripled from last year’s €3,200.

The increase is intended to encourage academic work and practical skills among local students. It also reflects the council’s support for research and vocational training within the town.

Blanes Town Council said the awards are part of its effort to back student talent and improve participation in future editions. For more local education coverage, see our news page.
