Train services on Rodalies lines R1, R2 Sud, and R4 in Barcelona are progressively returning to their regular schedules after an infrastructure issue between Arc de Triomf and Clot stations was resolved on Sunday, 17 May. Rodalies announced the resolution via 'X', formerly Twitter.
The incident led to significant diversions and service alterations across the affected lines. R1 and R4 trains were rerouted through Barcelona's Passeig de Gràcia station. For the R2 Sud line, services between Sant Vicenç de Calders in Tarragona and Barcelona's Estació de França were limited to two trains per hour in each direction, making stops at all stations.
Service Adjustments During Disruption
Further adjustments were made to the R4 line. Trains operating between Vilafranca and Manresa, both in Barcelona province, began and ended their journeys at Hospitalet de Llobregat. Additionally, a shuttle train service was put in place between Terrassa and Fabra i Puig, also within Barcelona. These measures were necessary to manage passenger flow and maintain some level of service during the disruption.
The swift resolution aims to minimise ongoing inconvenience for commuters and travellers using these key regional lines. Rodalies continues to monitor the network as frequencies stabilise across the affected routes.
