Barcelona City Council will begin a full restoration of the seven historic façades from the former Renfe railway workshops at Parc del Clot in 2026, with an estimated budget of €1.9 million.
For Clot residents and park users, the work is intended to preserve the 1858 structures and improve their condition as part of the city’s Pla Endreça public-space maintenance programme.
Former railway workshops included in 2026 works
The council said the project will restore both the façades and their historic elements. The seven façades are the surviving remains of the former Renfe workshops, Renfe being Spain’s state railway operator.
The intervention forms part of the Pla de Manteniment Integral (PMI), the council’s Integrated Maintenance Plan, which funds preventive maintenance and improvements to public space.
Three historic structures receive more than €9 million
The Parc del Clot project is one of three historic-structure schemes scheduled to start in 2026. Together, the council estimates they will cost more than €9 million.
- €6 million for Pont de Marina, built in 1928.
- €1.4 million for the Vallcarca viaduct, built in 1923.
- €1.9 million for the seven façades at Parc del Clot, dating from 1858.
