Barcelona City Council has granted initial approval to a new urban plan in Les Corts, which includes relocating the Sarrià fire station to Avinguda de Sarrià and constructing a new Escola Entença. This move, supported by PSC, Barcelona en Comú, and ERC, is expected to receive final approval in 2027, according to city officials.
The plan also features the creation of a new sports facility and a reorganisation of public spaces. The main goal is to improve safety and mobility in the area, providing Barcelona with more modern and efficient infrastructure.
Modernising City Services
The new fire station will incorporate the latest technology, designed to meet both current and future needs of the city. The new Escola Entença is planned as a leading educational centre, offering spacious, well-lit areas and top-tier facilities.
This project represents an investment of over €50 million and is scheduled for completion by 2029. Barcelona's Mayor, Ada Colau, highlighted the project's importance, stating it "is another step towards making Barcelona a safer, more sustainable, and more liveable city for everyone."
