Around 125,000 people visited 94 cultural institutions in Barcelona and its metropolitan area on Saturday evening for La Nit dels Museus (Night of the Museums). These venues opened their doors free of charge between 7pm and 1am, according to a statement from the Barcelona Provincial Council.
This year's event included new spaces such as the Gran Hotel Barcino, the La Bòbila Cultural Centre, and La Florida 6.0. It also highlighted recent renovations at Montjuïc Castle, Casa de l'Aigua, and Fabra i Coats. The Reial Monestir de Santa Maria de Pedralbes opened its doors as part of its 700th anniversary celebrations.
Top Visited Museums
The Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya (MNAC) received the highest number of visitors, with 17,028 people attending. The Museu d'Història de Barcelona followed with 12,914 visitors. Other popular sites included the Museu de L'Hospitalet with 6,243, the Museu de Badalona with 5,985, and Macba with 5,386.
CosmoCaixa attracted 5,165 visitors, while the CCCB saw 4,124. Montjuïc Castle, which recently underwent renovations, welcomed 3,842 people. The Disseny Hub recorded 3,416 visitors, and the Picasso Museum had 3,151 attendees.
