Barcelona is set to anchor Spain’s 2026 summer music season, with Primavera Sound and Sónar among the biggest dates on the calendar. The line-up, reported by El Periódico, brings together international acts, new album presentations and a wide mix of genres.
Primavera Sound Barcelona runs from 3 to 7 June. The 2026 edition includes new album presentations from The Cure and Doja Cat, an exclusive Spanish debut for Addison Rae, and performances by The xx, My Bloody Valentine and Rilo Kiley.
Sónar takes place from 18 to 20 June. The electronic music festival is entering a new stage under Belgian entrepreneur François Jozic, who has taken over as director. For the first time, all of its events will be held at a single venue, Fira Gran Via in L'Hospitalet, with acts including The Prodigy, Charlotte de Witte and Cabaret Voltaire.
Elsewhere in Catalonia, Rock Fest Barcelona in Santa Coloma de Gramenet runs from 1 to 4 July and remains one of Spain’s key heavy metal events. Festival Cruïlla, in Barcelona from 8 to 11 July, is aiming for a comfortable macro-festival format, with a line-up that blends urban sounds and acts from the 1990s and early 2000s, including Pixies, Senra, Garbage and Alizzz.
Across Spain, other major festivals include O Son do Camiño in Santiago de Compostela from 18 to 20 June, Resurrection Fest in Viveiro from 1 to 4 July, Jazzaldia in San Sebastián from 22 to 26 July, Azkena Rock Festival in Vitoria-Gasteiz from 18 to 20 June, Bilbao BBK Live from 9 to 11 July, Pirineos Sur in Huesca from 9 to 26 July, Sonorama in Aranda de Duero from 5 to 9 August, Las Noches del Botánico in Madrid from 4 June to 31 July, Mad Cool in Madrid from 8 to 11 July, FIB in Benicàssim from 16 to 18 July, Arenal Sound in Burriana from 30 July to 2 August, La Mar de Músicas in Cartagena from 17 to 25 July, ContemPOPranea in Don Benito on 16 and 17 October, Starlite Occident in Marbella from 19 June to 29 August, and Paredes de Coura in Portugal from 12 to 15 August.
