Barcelona’s history is set to receive extra protection as the Barcelona History Museum, MUHBA, strengthens its conservation and research programmes, according to Barcelona City Council officials.
The work is aimed at preserving the city’s historical artefacts and documents, helping to maintain the integrity of Barcelona’s heritage for study and public viewing.
By reinforcing conservation, MUHBA wants to reduce the risk of deterioration in valuable items. The museum also plans to expand research to deepen understanding of Barcelona’s development over the centuries.
The move forms part of the City Council’s wider support for cultural institutions across the city. It is intended to keep Barcelona’s history accessible as a living resource for residents and visitors.
