Barcelona is set for another hot Sunday, 31 May, with temperatures expected to climb close to 30°C before a brief cool-down early next week, according to Betevé's weather forecast.
The city is expected to start the day with tropical night conditions at 6am, followed by high humidity by 9am. By midday, temperatures could reach close to 30°C, with a full summer feel by 3pm.
Clouds are expected to arrive in the late afternoon, with the sky turning overcast by 9pm. No rain is forecast for the evening, although a blue microluna is expected at midnight.
Sunshine should dominate for most of the day, especially in the morning and at midday, with clear skies and some cloud development over Montseny. Temperatures are expected to be similar to Saturday's, with tropical minimums along much of the coast and pre-coastal areas, and noticeable humidity near the sea.
Clouds will move in from inland areas during the afternoon. Small showers or drizzle cannot be ruled out in the pre-coastal mountains later in the day, while the rest of the metropolitan area is expected to see mainly high and medium-level cloud cover. Wind is forecast to shift from xaloc to garbí, and some parts of Barcelona could again approach 30°C.
Early next week, the heat and humidity are expected to ease as a small trough brings cooler air at higher altitudes. Rain in Barcelona still looks unlikely for now, but the chance of showers is higher on Tuesday afternoon in parts of the pre-coastal area. Temperatures are forecast to fall from Monday to Wednesday, although the drop may not be enough to bring conditions fully back to normal. For more local coverage, see our news page.
