Barcelona City Council and the Spanish Ministry of Finance have reached an agreement for the free transfer of 62.8 hectares of coastal land in Barcelona. The handover covers a 5.2-kilometre stretch of the city’s coastline.
The land runs from Pepe Rubianes street to Sant Adrià de Besòs, according to officials. It was previously state property and will now pass to the city council.
The agreement changes how this part of Barcelona’s seafront is managed. The city council has not yet set out detailed plans for the land.
