Banyoles City Council has put forward its €25 million Connectem Banyoles project to the Generalitat's Pla de Barris, the Catalan Government's neighbourhood improvement programme. The proposal covers Canaleta, the eastern part of Barri Vell and La Farga, and would affect residents in the three areas through planned urban, social and environmental measures.
According to the Ajuntament de Banyoles announcement, the project contains 54 cross-cutting actions with an exact total value of €25 million. The council says its aim is to strengthen the neighbourhoods and improve cohesion across the city, with a particular focus on the east of Banyoles.
Three strands for Canaleta, Barri Vell east and La Farga
The council has structured Connectem Banyoles around three areas of work:
- urban planning;
- social action; and
- ecological transformation.
The proposal is part of the Generalitat's 2025–2029 Pla de Barris programme. Banyoles City Council describes it as work developed with public bodies, local associations and residents.
Residents can consult the council's published Connectem Banyoles project announcement for the stated scope of the proposal.
