In Igualada, 566 students from the Anoia region began their university entrance exams, known as the PAU, on Tuesday at the University of Lleida’s Igualada campus. The exams are due to continue until Thursday.
The PAU is a key step for students in Catalonia who want to move on to higher education. For many of the Anoia students taking part, the results will help shape their university options in the weeks ahead.
Officials have put mobile phone controls in place during the exam period. The measure is intended to support fairness and reduce the risk of academic misconduct.
The PAU is a standardised assessment taken by students across Catalonia, with tests covering different subjects over three days. Results are used as part of the university admissions process.
Students will receive their results in the coming weeks, after which they can assess their next steps for university enrolment. For more Catalonia-wide education coverage, see our news page.
