Thirteen municipalities in the Alt Empordà region of Girona have been recognised for their transparency in public management, according to local reports. Peralada stood out by achieving a 100% 'Infoparticipa' seal for the second consecutive year.

Peralada also received an extraordinary award for its support to Cabanes, officials said. This recognition highlights the efforts of these local councils to improve transparency and citizen participation in their administration.

The 'Infoparticipa' seal assesses the quality and transparency of information provided by local governments to their citizens. Achieving a 100% score, as Peralada did, signifies full compliance with the criteria set by the initiative.

Councils Honoured for Openness

The municipalities recognised for their transparency efforts are Alt Àneu, Arbúcies, Banyoles, Begur, Cabanes, Caldes de Malavella, Castelló d'Empúries, Figueres, Girona, La Bisbal d'Empordà, Palamós, Peralada, and Roses. This collective honour reflects a broader commitment across the region to open governance.

The awards encourage local authorities to maintain high standards of public information and accountability. Further details on the specific criteria and future assessments are expected to be released by the 'Infoparticipa' initiative.
