Cinemas in Figueres and Roses, in Alt Empordà, have published their film schedules for 12 to 16 June. The line-up includes science fiction, drama, thrillers, family animation and horror, according to local news source L'Empordà.
Among the main titles is Steven Spielberg's new science fiction drama, The Day of Revelation, which centres on humanity's reaction to extraterrestrial life. It will screen at Cinemes Figueres at 18:00 and 21:40 on weekdays, and at 16:00, 19:00 and 22:00 on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14. Cinemes Roses will show it at 18:00 and 20:45 on Friday 12, with further weekend and Monday and Tuesday screenings.
Cineclub Diòptria will present Uncontrollable, a British drama from 2025 based on the true story of John Davidson, who campaigned for people with Tourette's syndrome. The English-language film will be shown in original version with subtitles at Cinemes Figueres on Tuesday 16 and Thursday 18 at 20:30.
Other new releases include A Unique Talent, a 2025 Canadian thriller about a piano tuner's apprentice with hyperacusis who finds he can open safes, drawing him into the criminal underworld. Cinemes Figueres will screen it at 18:00, 20:00 and 22:00 on weekdays and weekends, while Cinemes Roses has multiple showings from Friday 12 through the following days. Also on the programme is the Spanish drama Pioneers: They Just Wanted to Play (2026), about young girls challenging social norms to play football in early 1970s Francoist Spain.
For viewers looking for lighter or more tense options, A Gun, a Bullet and a Panda Bear (2026) follows a depressed film director whose life changes after a mysterious package arrives. It will be screened at Cinemes Figueres at 20:00 daily. Horror fans can also choose Backrooms (2026), a psychological thriller based on a short film, with showings at Cinemes Figueres and evening screenings at Cinemes Roses from Friday 12 to Tuesday 16.
Family audiences have two animated films in Catalan at Cinemes Figueres, The Pérez-Bears (2024), about a sloth family trying to make its food truck business work in the city, and The School of Magical Animals 4 (2025), a German adventure film. Another title on the schedule is He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (2026), an action-fantasy film with screenings in both Figueres and Roses. The sixth instalment of the Scary Movie saga is also listed as part of the programme.
