Barcelona, Alexia Putellas said farewell to the Johan Cruyff Stadium on 27 May 2026 as FC Barcelona Femení beat Real Sociedad 2-1 in the team’s final home match of the season. About 5,000 spectators were in attendance for the game in Sant Joan Despí.

Putellas, who has announced she will leave the club at the end of the season, offered the Champions League trophy to supporters before kick-off. It was her last appearance in front of the home crowd, and a significant moment for the Mollet native.

Barcelona took the lead in the 13th minute through Clàudia Pina, with Carla Julià providing the assist. Real Sociedad equalised about 15 minutes later through Emma Ramírez, who beat goalkeeper Gemma Font to make it 1-1.

The hosts went back in front through Aitana Bonmatí, who finished a move involving Putellas and Kika. That goal proved decisive, with Barcelona holding on to win 2-1 at full time.

The second half also brought a series of farewells. Ona Batlle was substituted in the 59th minute and received a guard of honour from her Barcelona team-mates, with reports suggesting she is expected to join Arsenal. Mapi León was then taken off in the 68th minute and also received a send-off from the crowd and her team-mates.

The biggest ovation came in the 80th minute, when coach Pere Romeu replaced Putellas with Patri Guijarro. Players from both Barcelona and Real Sociedad formed a guard of honour as the club’s second-highest goalscorer left the pitch for the final time at home.
