Agramunt, in Lleida, has seen its former Kipps hotel and restaurant turned into a filming location for the new Movistar Plus+ series Todo lo necesario (Everything Necessary). The production drew local attention and included actors David Verdaguer, Enric Auquer and Marina Salas.
The shoot ran over four days, with set-up on Monday and Tuesday, principal filming on Wednesday, and dismantling planned for Thursday. On Wednesday, about 140 people, including technical staff, production crew and extras, worked inside the building, according to local reports.
The series is a collaboration between Movistar Plus+ and Lastor Media, and is directed by Marcel Barrena, known for El 47, and Fernando Trullols, director of Balandrau. It is a three-episode political thriller inspired by the 2009 kidnapping of three Spanish aid workers by Al-Qaeda and the negotiations for their release.
Filming locations for the series include Senegal and several places in Spain, among them Barcelona, Murcia and Agramunt’s Kipps. Ramon Bochaca of Ponent i Acció said the organisation supported Lastor Media from location scouting through to accommodation, catering and professional services. He added that filming at Kipps focused on the restaurant area and a couple of hotel rooms, and forms a small part of the series near the end of the story.
The production is expected to premiere in 2027. Ponent i Acció said the filming generated an estimated economic return of between €15,000 and €20,000 for the local area, and it is already working on new productions, including another shoot scheduled for this month at the same Kipps location.
