The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has awarded a €12.34 million contract for the full rehabilitation of the A-2 motorway's road surface between Cervera and La Panadella, in Lleida province. The works will cover the section from kilometre 522.2 to 530.7.
This project follows emergency repairs carried out in early March after heavy winter rain and snow caused several vehicle incidents due to the poor condition of the road, according to Segre. The new work aims to improve the surface's condition and regularity, extend its lifespan, and increase road safety.
Scope of Works
The rehabilitation includes structural repairs to the road surface in the right-hand lane in both directions. It will also involve adjusting longitudinal gradients in specific sections and superficial rehabilitation across the entire width of the road, including junctions, ramps, and speed change lanes. Additionally, road markings, beacons, and safety barriers will be replaced.
This project is part of the state road network's conservation and maintenance programme. The Ministry of Transport has invested €200 million in the Lleida region since 2018 as part of this broader initiative.
