Tarragona's Modern Art Museum (MAMT) celebrated Museum Night on Saturday with a special 080 Reborn fashion show. The event, an initiative by 080 Barcelona Fashion, featured creations by stylists and art directors Fermin Serret and Gilles Saint Martin, known as Fermin & Gilles.
The museum's exhibition halls provided the setting for this unique parade of second-hand clothing. Pieces from the designers' collections over the past four years were shown, complemented by jewellery made by the Tarragona Provincial Council's School of Art and Design.
Rethinking Fashion Consumption
The collection reinterprets items from textile waste and second-hand shops, giving them new life and a new story. This initiative, supported by the Catalan Waste Agency and GirbauLab, promotes a clear idea: fashion can drive change. It focuses on rethinking consumption, extending clothing's lifespan, and reducing environmental impact. This is not just a responsibility, but also a chance to create new aesthetics and new ways of relating to the clothes people wear.
Noemí Llauradó, President of the Tarragona Provincial Council, and Óscar Sánchez, Deputy for Social and Cultural Promotion, attended the event. The show filled the MAMT with visitors.
