Fifteen Firms Explore Vocational Training Partnerships
Fifteen business owners and managers from Terrassa took part in a dual vocational training (FP Dual) information session hosted by the Chamber of Terrassa on Thursday 15 October 2026. The event, titled 'FP Dual brings talent to your business', aimed to deepen understanding of the training model and its potential to address staffing needs, support business succession and develop local talent within the retail sector. The session forms part of the FP Pyme programme, which the Chamber supports to connect local companies with educational institutions and align workforce training with regional economic needs. According to the Chamber, 74 businesses in the area received advisory support on FP Dual last year, with 20 requesting direct contact facilitation with training centres.
Schools and Employers Build Training Links
The Institut Montserrat Roig and Salesians Terrassa collaborated in the event, presenting their vocational training offerings and outlining opportunities for student-company collaboration. These partnerships allow students to gain practical experience while businesses access emerging talent and support workforce continuity. Terrassa City Council’s Municipal Action Plan identifies expanding FP Dual placements as a strategic goal, linking vocational training to key local industries such as health technology, textiles and audiovisual production. The council aims to strengthen education-to-employment pathways and establish a skills observatory to align training with business needs.
The FP Dual model benefits both students and businesses by combining classroom learning with real-world experience in local shops and services.
