Mossos d'Esquadra officers are investigating the violent death of a man found tied hand and foot in a farmhouse in Reus, Tarragona, on Saturday, 16 May. Two men have been arrested in connection with the incident, while a third suspect remains at large, according to Catalan police.

Emergency services received a 112 call at around 2pm on Saturday, reporting a fight inside a Reus farmhouse. Patrols from the Mossos d'Esquadra and medical teams from the Sistema d’Emergències Mèdiques (SEM) were dispatched to the scene.

Inside the property, agents discovered the body of a man showing clear signs of violence. Sources close to the case indicated that the victim had been beaten, and the room was filled with pepper spray, making initial intervention difficult for emergency personnel.

Arrests Made Outside Farmhouse

Two injured men were found outside the farmhouse. One, aged 79, had injuries to his face and head. The second man, 46, had a stab wound and received treatment at Sant Joan de Reus hospital.

Both men were arrested on Saturday for their alleged involvement in the violent death. Catalan police reported that one of the suspects attempted to flee when officers arrived.

Investigators are also looking into the possible involvement of a third person who reportedly escaped before police arrived. This individual is currently wanted by authorities.

The exact cause of the fight and the circumstances leading to the crime are still unknown. The case is under a secrecy order, with the Divisió d'Investigació Criminal (DIC) leading the investigation.

This marks the first violent death recorded in Reus this year. It is the fifth such incident in the city over the past three years, following three crimes in 2023 and one in 2025.
