The Peusa Private Business and Services Foundation of Alt Urgell (Peusa) has donated its historical archive to the Alt Urgell Regional Archive in La Seu d'Urgell. This collection, spanning nearly 350 linear metres of historical documentation, ranks among Catalonia's most voluminous and is one of the eight oldest in the region, according to Regió 7.

The formal handover took place on Monday, 18 May 2026, at the Regional Archive's headquarters. Josep Àngel Rosell, president of the Alt Urgell Regional Council, and Xavier Castellana, president of Peusa, were both present for the ceremony.

Preserving Regional History

Peusa's archive covers the period from the organisation's creation in 1963 to the present day. It contains documents related to its business activities and its work in promoting the economic and social development of the Alt Urgell region.

This donation means Peusa's documentation will be preserved and made available for public access. Citizens, researchers, and students can now consult these records, helping to spread knowledge of Alt Urgell's historical and cultural heritage.

The president of the Regional Council, Josep Àngel Rosell, highlighted the importance of this donation for conserving the historical memory of the region. He thanked Peusa for its collaboration. Xavier Castellana, Peusa's president, expressed satisfaction at contributing to the preservation of the organisation's documentary legacy. He emphasised the Regional Archive's value as a guardian of collective memory.
