A multi-agency police operation in La Seu d'Urgell, Lleida, led to 222 individuals being identified and 14 people charged with various offences. The operation, known as 'Kanpai', took place on Friday afternoon and into Saturday morning.

Officers from the Mossos d'Esquadra, Policía Nacional, Guardia Civil, and Policía Local worked together in the Alt Urgell capital. Their goal was to combat repeat offending and prevent crimes involving weapons and drugs, according to the Mossos d'Esquadra.

Among those identified, 161 had previous criminal records. Three individuals alone had accumulated up to 70 prior offences. The 14 administrative charges included 10 for illegal substances, two for prohibited weapons, and two for infractions related to the ownership of dangerous dog breeds.

Further Actions Taken

The 'Kanpai' operation also involved the seizure of two electric scooters. Police entered a music bar as part of the initiative. Additionally, the Policía Nacional started 11 investigations concerning irregularities under the immigration law, known as the Ley de Extranjería.

This joint effort highlights ongoing police focus on public safety and crime prevention in the region. Authorities continue to monitor areas for repeat offenders and address issues such as drug possession and illegal weapon use.
