Figueres will mark the Festes de Sant Pere from Friday 26 June to Monday 29 June, with around 30 activities spread across the city. For people in the Alt Empordà and across Catalonia, the programme brings four days of concerts, traditional events and open days at cultural venues, with Monday 29 June listed as a local public holiday in Figueres.
The programme, published by the Ajuntament de Figueres, adds two new features this year, a 75-metre water slide on the Pujada del Castell and a candle-lighting event at the Church of Sant Pere. The city is also keeping long-running events on the schedule, including the night parade, the castellers day, folk dance gatherings, the selection of the pubilla and hereu, the solemn church service and bell ringing.
Events are set to take place in several central locations, including Plaça Catalunya, the Church of Sant Pere, the Pujada del Castell and local museums. The council says the festival combines popular culture, live music and religious and civic traditions linked to Sant Pere, or Saint Peter.
Open days are also planned at the Casa Natal Salvador Dalí and the Museu del Joguet. Anyone planning to attend should check the official city council agenda for the latest times and venues, especially because the programme is spread across different parts of the city.
Monday 29 June is Sant Pere day and a local holiday in Figueres, so public services and business hours may differ from a normal weekday. Residents, commuters and visitors should confirm opening times directly with operators or venues if they need specific details.
The full programme is available on the Ajuntament de Figueres festival page and the city’s official tourism channels. For more local updates, see our news coverage.
